Robert our nephew, at about the time he was six or so,
went with us to The Galveston beachfront for a night of fishing under the
lights right off the famed Seawall. It was one of many that summer. He asked
his Uncle Joe to rig them in tandem. He wanted them to fish together, so he
could catch two trout at a time. Uncle Joe rigged them the way he wanted, and to this day we still tie
and fish them the same way. They are still called what he named his new rig
that night, the Speck Wrecker .
Here are the components to make either SpeckWrecker In - Line
Tandem Rig. You just need a Tube Head, Tube Double Hook, Original Pounder
Treble Hook, and your choice of Tube Pounder tails.
Tie a 12" to 18"picee of 20-25lb mono to the hook eye of the Tube Head.
Clip on your Tube Double Hook, and then insert the Tube Head into the Tube Tail. Punch
a hole in the front of your Split Tail Tube with your hook and slide the
leader line thru. Tie the leader line to the Original Treble Hook and pull
it into the rear of the Split Tail Tube and your ready to fish in Tandem.
